An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure – Week 2

I have seen so many institutions – churches, colleges, daycares, even companies wait until after a tragedy occurs before addressing the issue that caused the tragedy. Therapy and lawsuits are never the preferred response when prevention and education could have helped to avoid the situation altogether. But this means we have to prepare for those things we do not like to talk about or think about. This addresses the age-old proverb that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Often the cost of prevention is so much less than the cost of negligence, yet we still roll the dice and take our chances because these are “unpleasant things” we must face. Just remember, sticking your head in the sand presents a very appealing target to a would-be enemy.
